Evidence is here I will not apologies: Rajinikanth

Rajinikanth today said that he will not apologise for his remarks about Periyar’s protests in 1971.

Speaking to media persons at his Poes Garden, he showed a few paper clippings and said, ”I have evidence of reports that appeared in newspapers then. I did not make up things and speak. This issue is not something that cannot be denied, but should be forgotten.”

Rajinikanth made the statement after members of Periyar Dravida Kazhagam announced that they would lay siege to his house at Poes Garden 23 January demanding an apology for his remarks.

However, fans of the actor dared them to hold the agitation. They said that they would assemble in Poes Garden in large numbers if needed on the day. Members of a Dravidian outfit also lodged a complaint against Rajinikanth for his remarks about rationalist leader E V Ramasamy (Periyar).
