Indo Cine Appreciation Foundation, in association with Balassi Institute, Hungarian Information and Cultural Centre, New Delhi are organizing a Hungarian Film Festival on 29 & 30 March 2019 at Russian Center of Science and Culture,74, Kasturi Ranga Road, Chennai - 600018. Films including Liza, the Fox-Fairy, Swing and Loop will be screened as part of the festival. The synopsis of Liz, THe Fox-Fairy is 'Liza is a nurse, seeking love. Her only company is a long-dead Japanese pop star, who turns her into a fox-fairy out of jealousy. Now, every men who desires Liza shall die horribly. Can she overcome the curse?'
As far as Swing is concerned, it is about three women from three generations who are forced together, mentored by an old diva and a transvestite, to form a band. They are successful on stage, but off of it they are not getting along at all. Loop is about drug dealer and his girlfriend betray their boss on their last mission, and the lead gets stuck in a timeloop.
Kills on Wheels, which too will be screened at the festival, is a meaningful action-comedy of a wheelchair-bound assassin gang. Driven by despair and fear of becoming useless, a 20 year-old boy, his friend, and an ex-fireman offer their services to the mafia. But things are not what they seem. The boundaries between reality and fiction blur and the story becomes a whirling kaleidoscope showing us gangsters and gunfights, but also the challenge of life in a wheelchair and the pain caused by a father's rejection.
