Heavy rains lashed several parts of Tamil Nadu, including Chennai city and suburbs, thanks tothe presence of two weather systems, which will ensure more rains in the next two to three days.
Met office sources said the Low Pressure area over the east central Arabian sea now lay centred over central parts of Arabian Sea with the associated cyclonic circulation extending upto 4.5 km above mean sea level.
''It is very likely to become into a well marked low pressure area during next 24 hrs and is likely to concentrate into a Depression during the subsequent 24 hrs'', the sources said.
It is likely to move initially eastnortheastwards over the east central Arabian Sea till October 25 and then move westnorthwestwards with gradual intensification.
The trough of low at mean sea level from cyclonic circulation over south Tamilnadu and adjoining north Sri Lanka to north Coastal Andhra Pradesh across southwest Bay of Bengal has become less marked.
