The return of Edappadi K Palaniswami after signing singing several MoUs with business houses in UK, USA, Dubai certainly won him lots of goodwill. So much so that he was given warm reception. Much recently DMK president M K Stalin too said that eh would hold a grand event to honour EPS provided he really brought the investments to Tamilnadu. However EPS, who took over the reigns of Tamilnadu in difficult condition had to face DMK's onslaught, TTV Dhinakaran and infighting within his party with assumed opposition by OPS front. Cal it a masterstroke, EPS seems to have overcome his opposition quite well.
Observors say EPS is a shrewd politician. He not only managed to win 9 of the 22 Assembly seats that went for polls, which was a cliffhanger for the continuation of AIADMK government, he managed to establish his supremacy within the party.His overseas trip brought him respect within cadres. He handles things in a simple way.The fact that the DMK could not make a big issue out of his trip abroad is an indication to it, they add.
Palaniswami today on his return from abroad, said, ' 41 MoUs worth a total of Rs 8,835 crore, had been signed during his three-nation visit. 'Once these MoUs are converted into actual investments, more than 35,000 people will get employment'.
