Tamil Nadu Governor Banwarilal Purohit, Chief Minister K Palaniswami and Leader of the Opposition M K Stalin Tuesday hailed half miler Gomathi Marimuthu for bagging gold in the ongoing Asian Athletics Champions in Qatar. In a statement, the Governor said, "The feat achieved by Ms. Gomathi Marimuthu of winning the gold medal for India at the Asian Athletics championships in a matter of pride and happiness for the people of Tamil Nadu.
I congratulate the gold winning athlete on her glorious performance. May she continue to win top levels for India and Tamil Nadu in the coming years." Palaniswami lauded the sportsperson for her international feat and expressed joy over her winning the gold medal. "I wish you participate in more such international tournaments and bring laurels to India and Tamil Nadu," he said.
