In a brutal incident, the son of a former AIADMK MP murdered his mother at Besant Nagar in Chennai. The incident happened due to property dispute, police said. Police have launched a hunt for the victim son’s Praveen, 35, as the deceased made a distress call to her daughter minutes before the murder and complained that her son was trying to murder her, demanding his share in the family property.
The victim Rathinam was the wife of late AIADMK MP Kulandaivelu. The police said the son, educated in the UK, was extremely brutal in killing the mother. He attempted to electrocute her, tied her hands and legs, gagged her and stabbed her 10 times in the chest at their residence on Sixth Avenue, Besant Nagar.
