The Chennai police has filed another case against Jayaram Venkatesan, convenor of Arappor Iyakkam. Which is an anti- corruption NGO, which has been lodging against alleged corruption in Greater Chennai Corporation's tender process. The Central Crime Branch has filed a case against Jayaram for creating public alarm and rioting. They filed FIR against Jayaraman based on a complaint by Sakthi Manikandan, corporation superintending engineer.
Jayaram, who appeared before CCB sub-Inspector T Vinothkumar on Thursday, was shown a video of their latest expose on the alleged m-sand corruption in the corporation's bus route road tender process.
Jayaram said, the summons copy given to Jayaram but there is no mention of the reason for the FIR. That the FIR is an attack on our freedom of speech and expression and to stifle any democratic voice that intends to talk against injustice and corruption, Arappor said in statement.
