Extra charges on Tejas Express Rail for belongings over 70 kg

The Tejas Express train was launched on January 17 between Mumbai and Ahmedabad on behalf of the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC).

It has been decided to charge extra ticket for passengers carrying heavy loads on the train. An IRCTC official said that

"A passenger in the Tejas railway seating compartment is allowed up to 40kg and the passenger in the executive compartment is allowed to carry free belongings for up to 70kg."

"Other than that, you will have to pay a fee if you want to carry extra loaded possessions. Additional staff will be assigned and the passenger belongings will be checked and charged. Half the tickets will be charged for children between the ages of 5 and 12. The charging scheme for overloaded property will be rolled out during the summer holidays."
