Academy award winner AR Rahman had kept each and every fan out here in complete disappointment, when he was constantly focusing on Bollywood, Hollywood and International projects. However, over the past couple of years, he has been relentlessly working on Tamil films including 3 back to back films with Vijay (Mersal, Sarkar and Bigil that was preceded by Suriya’s ‘24’ directed by Vikram Kumar.
In one of the interviews, AR Rahman had revealed the actual reason behind taking up more Tamil projects. He had said, “My mother’s health was not okay and it wasn’t an easy thing for to fly up and down to USA and other places continuously. So I decided to put up my stay here and came across some wonderful projects from Atlee, Vikram Kumar and others.”
It is worth mentioning that Boney Kapoor and AR Rahman had a long discussion over ‘Nerkonda Paarvai’, but AR Rahman felt that he wanted to collaborate with such big names like Ajith in a movie that will have more scope for music. The recent announcements of Vikram’s untitled film directed by Ajay Gnanamuthu and Kamal Haasan’s Thalaivan Irukkiran are yet another inclusion. More than all, it is expected that AR Rahman will be teaming up with Rajinikanth’s forthcoming film directed by KS Ravikumar as well.
