Academy Award winner AR Rahman is completely involved in the ambitious project of Ponniyin Selvan, directed by Mani Ratnam. The film’s shooting commenced last month in Thailand and now the second schedule involving Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Trisha is planned to be shot there. Meanwhile, AR Rahman has reportedly completed composing 3 songs for the film and one among them is a romantic duet. It looks like ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ album will be spangled with myriad songs and there would be lots of BGMs included in the track list as well.
Based on the epic book of ‘Ponniyin Selvan’, which delineates the golden period of Chola Dynasty, the film features Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sarath Kumar, Prabhu, Vikram Prabhu, Parthipan, Jayaram and many other prominent artistes in star-cast.
