EPS raises doubts over Karunanidhi's death, blames Stalin, promises probe

Even as DMK president M K Stalin continuing to raise doubts over the death of former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami has dropped a bombshell by raising serious questions over the treatment and demise of DMK supremo M Karunanidhi.

Speaking at an election campaign meeting, Palaniswami said the 94-year-old Karunanidhi, who passed away on August 7 last year, could have been taken abroad for treatment and indicated the AIADMK government could launch a probe into it.

He blamed Stalin for not taking his Karunanidhi abroad for treatment and said that his “government is ready to order a probe into his death”. There was a deliberate attempt of preventing Karunanidhi from getting better treatment abroad. There is a question as to why the senior political leader was not taken overseas for adequate treatment," he said.
