Ahead of a public rally to be addressed by their alliance partner and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami and Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam today chaired meetings with senior leaders of the AIADMK. It is to be noted that while Panneerselvam is the coordinator of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, Palaniswami is the joint coordinator of Tamil Nadu's ruling party.
EPS and OPS chaired meeting with ministers Thangamani and Velumani. AIADMK deputy coordinator Munuswamy too participated. It is said the leaders discussed about giving a final push to rope in DMDK into their alliance before the rally begins. Meanwhile, Modi will dedicate to the Nation the electrified sections of Erode–Karur–Tiruchchirappalli and Salem–Karur–Dindigul.
Governor Banwarilal Purohit, Chief Minister Edappadi K Paniswami, Railway Minister Piyush Goyal, Union Ministers of State, State Ministers, MPs and MLA would participate in the event.
According to a Southern Railway release, in a significant move by the Union Government towards energy conservation reducing dependence on imported fossil fuel and saving revenue for the national carrier, complete electrification of Indian Railways was planned in the next four years. Railway Electrification will also help seamless train operation by reducing therunning time, it said.
