EPS inaugurates laddu scheme at Madurai temple

Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami today inaugurated a scheme to distribute laddus to devotees visiting the renowned Meenakshi Sundareswarar temple in Madurai.

He also inaugurated through video conferencing from the Secretariat in Chennai buildings constructed at Lord Balamurugan temple in Rathinagiri, Lord Abathsagayeswara Swami temple in Alangudi and Goddess Soorathamman temple in Peerkankaranai.

Madurai Meenakshi Amman temple will distribute 20,000 laddus to devotees daily. The laddus are being made in the temple kitchen (madapalli), and 15 workers are preparing them under hygienic conditions. Gram flour, ghee, sugar, spices, cashew and raisins are being used to make the laddus. Each laddu weighs around 30 gram.
