The Election Commission of India today held a meeting with representatives of political parties in Chennai to seek their views on the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The representatives expressed their views and lodged complaints against their rivals. The officials also held a meeting with top government officers.
Election Commissioners Ashok Lavasa and Sushil Chandra consulted political party representatives in the morning. Later, they held detailed discussions with the District Election Officers and Superintendents of Police. Meanwhile, the election commission’s teams which intensified the vehicle checking and so far they have seized about Rs 80 crore in cash besides Rs 132 crore worth gold.
