Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam treasurer and Deputy Leader of Opposition in Tamil Nadu Assembly, Durai Murugan, was today admitted to Apollo Hospitals in Chennai after he complained of chest pain. According to sources, the former Minister complained of chest pain during the wee hours of today, following which his family members rushed him to the hospital from their Kotturpuram house.
"Doctors checked Durai Murugan's health and are providing treatment. He is under observation and is out of danger. There is nothing to worry about his health condition," sources said.
DMK president MK Stalin and other senior leaders of the party have enquired about Durai Murugan's health condition and have wished him speedy recovery. Only on Thursday, Durai Murugan broke down in the state Assembly while paying tributes to his leader and former Chief Minister M Karunanidhi.
During the obituary reference on the DMK supremo, Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami and Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam paid rich laurels on Karunanidhi and hailed him for his achievements. In his address, Durai Murugan was unable to control his emotions and broke down with tears. "I was unfortunate to see the death of my beloved leader," he said in a choked voice. Many other DMK MLAs who saw Durai Murugan breaking down shed tears and turned emotion. Even DMK president and Leader of Opposition M K Stalin was no exception.
