Pollachi continues to shock. The latest is- as many as 159 students, mostly from Kerala, were held by police for using banned drugs during a rave party at Pollachi. According to sources, the party took place at a resort in Anna Nagar, Sethumadai on 3 May. Drugs, tablets and liquor bottles were reportedly seized from the party. Recently, weeks after a case of sexual assault and extortion of a college student in Pollachi was transferred for investigation to the CBI, the agency took up the probe.
The agency said on Sunday that it had registered two cases and begun investigation. The first FIR is based on the sexual harassment and snatching of a gold chain reported in Coimbatore district on February 12. The second FIR is related to an assault on the survivor’s brother on February 26 towards near the town.
