Double delight in Kollywood: Raatchasan, 96 scores century

Call it a pleasant surprise for movie-lovers in this part of the country. Kollywood saw two of its acclaimed films released last year complete 100 days. If Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha starrer 96 saw 100 days in theatres yesterday, it was the turn of Vishnu Vishal starrer Ratsasan to complete the feat today. 96 directed by Premkumar was a blockbuster. As Ram and Jaanu, both Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha excelled in their roles. Music by Govind Vasantha was one of the highlight. The movie spoke about a photographer who happened to visit his school. He starts connecting with his school friends, and they decide to have a reunion. There he meets his ex-lover.

Raatchasan was a mystery thriller. Helmed by Mundassupatti fame Ramkumar, it was engaging entertainer. Amala Paul played the heroine. Music was by Ghibran. The movie was about a serial killer. He murders school girls, and a newbie cop (Vishnu Vishal) has to track him down before the victim count increases. The psycho thriller won huge reception and is still running at few cinema halls.
