The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam today suspended former Minister Mullaivendan from the party 'for violating its rules and discipline' Soon after the action, Vendan called on AMMK's Dharmapuri candidate Palaniappan and extended his support to him. Mullaivendan met PMK youth wing president Anbumani Ramadoss recently, it may be recalled.
Mullaivendan was elected to the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly from Morappur constituency in 1989, 1996 and 2006. Mullaivendhan had served as a minister in the cabinet led by the then Chief Minister M Karunanidhi.
