DMK sacks leader for bringing defame to party

The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam has suspended the party's Perambalur district deputy secretary Rajkumar from all positions including primary membership. In a statement, DMK general secretary K Anbazhagan has said the action has been taken against Rajkumar for bringing defame to the party with his activities.

Meanwhile, DMK president M K Stalin paid condolences to former DMK MP, M Ramanathan, who died in the early hours of Friday due to age-related illness. He was 84. He is survived by his wife and three sons. Ramanathan represented Coimbatore West Assembly constituency in 1984 and 1989 and was also member of the 11th Lok Sabha in 1996.
