DMK meet endorses Stalin's stand to move court on LB polls again

The Opposition DMK on Sunday endorsedthe stand taken by Party President M K Stalin to move the court again on the notification issued by the Tamil Nadu State Election Commissioon (SEC) to hold local body polls on December 27 and 30, except in nine newly-carved districts.

A resolution to this effect was adopted at the DMK's district Secretary's meeting chaired by M K Stalin.

The resolution alleged that the SEC was acting as an agent of the ruling AIADMK and had announced the poll schedule without properly following the Apex Court orders, which had directed the SEC to hold the polls in nine new districts after carrying out the delimitation exercise and reservation for SC and STs in four months, while allowing holding of polls in the remaining 27 districts.
