As per early trends, DMK is leading in majority number of Lok Sabha seats in Tamil Nadu, while there is a tough fight between the AIADMK and the DMK in the by-elections conducted for 22 Assembly constituencies. In the Lok Sabha elections held in the state, the DMK is leading in more than 25 seats, while the AIADMK in five seats.
In the by-election, DMK is leading in 11 constituencies, while the AIADMK in eight. Counting of votes polled in the Lok Sabha and Assembly bypolls in Tamil Nadu, that would decide the fate of the survival of the ruling AIADMK, began this morning, amid tight security. The counting is happening in 45 centres across the state, involving 17,128 polling staff and 80,000 security personnel.
