DMK goes to Supreme Court against Assembly Speaker's decision

DMK has filed a plea in the Supreme Court against Tamil Nadu Assembly Speaker P Dhanapal for sending notices to three AIADMK MLAs. The Supreme Court has agreed to hear on Monday the DMK's plea against Speaker's notice for disqualification of three AIADMK MLAs, who allegedly extended support to rival leader and AMMK founder TTV Dhinakaran.

Dhanapal on April 30 issued show cause notices to three AIADMK legislators -- A. Prabhu (Kallakuruchi constituency), Rathinasabapathy (Aranthangi) and V.T. Kalaiselvan (Virudhachalam) seeking explanations for their anti-party activities. The action was initiated following recommendation by Government Whip S Rajendran. The DMK has also brought a no-confidence motion against Dhanapal.
