The DMK has convened district secretaries meeting on 11 November to discuss the decisions taken at its general council convened the day before. An announcement to this effect was made by the DMK headquarters late on Wednesday.
The announcement has triggered speculation given that the November 10 general council has proposed to discuss by law amendment and local body election besides the recent bypoll failure, which could make the position of a few functionaries vulnerable in the party. Timing of the convention of the meeting, sources said, has been created an unrest in the party circles with many speculating the possibility of the high command effecting minor organisational shake up, understandably, to plug the holes and rejuvenate the cadre.
