The Netrikkan movie, which starred Rajinikanth in 1981, was a hugely popular film. Lakshmi, Saritha, Menaka, Vijayasanthi and Countamani were also present. SP Muthuraman was the director and the film is produced by Balachander's Kavithalaya Film Institute.
Dhanush continues to say that he wants to remake the forehead and play the role of Rajinikanth. It has been revealed that he is currently working on the initial stages of the project and will make minor changes to the story to suit the current audience.
There is an expectation of who will direct the Netrikkan remake. In this case, the director Visu objected that the forehead should not be remade without his permission. He has stated:
“sources have said that Dhanush is planning to remake Netrikkan film. If it is false, will not care about this rumors. If true, it would be better to ask licence from me the story writer, than getting license from film's production company, Kavithalaya. If he remake the Netrikkan without licensing, I will sue Dhanush in court. ”
