The politics in Maharastra took a dramatic turn on Tuesday when Devendra Fadnavis who took oath as the Chief Minister of the state four days ago tendered his resignation. Earlier Ajit Pawar, Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra had quit his post.
The resignation came shortly after the supreme court ordered a floor test in Maharastra assembly.
"We now do not have the majority and hence we cannot form the government. We will not indulge in any horse-trading. I will go to the governor and submit my resignation. My best wishes to the government to be formed," Fadnavis told reporters.
