Close on the heels of Kamal Haasan's Makkal Needhi Maiam announcing that they will not field any candidate for the by- election to Vellore, he was trolled by Minister D Jayakumar Addressing press persons, he sarcastically said that since Kamal is busy hosting Bigg Boss show he could not find time for Election. Earlier MNM, Party General Secretary A Arunachalam, in a statement, said the MNM is focused on contesting the state assembly election and bringing about a change in the government.
Citing pending cases in the court regarding alleged cash distribution which led to cancellation of the polls, the party said the new schedule of the elections in Vellore has reduced the faith of the people on the Election Commission (EC).
