Combined display by army cadets at OTA Chennai wows all

A combined display of various martial arts and adventure sports activities were organized at OTA Chennai as part of the passing out parade of Gentlemen and Lady cadets. This thrilled the participants. Lieutenant General Sanjeev Kanal, AVSM was the Chief Guest for the event.  The splendid show started with Equestrian display performed by the cadets and instructors of the horse riding club of the Academy, followed by a Gymnastic display by the cadets and the physical training instructors.

The Kalaripayattu (Martial art practiced in Kerala and Tamilnadu) was performed by the soldiers of Madras Regimental Centre. The renowned team of Para Regimental Centre, Bangalore presented the Para Motor show. Malkhamb, the traditional Indian sports was performed by the Maratha Light Infantry Regimental Centre, Belgaum.  The event culminated with the Chief Guest Lieutenant General Sanjeev Kanal, AVSM presenting mementos to the participants.

Meanwhile, vigil has been tightened at the India-Pakistan border, even as a 32-year-old Kashmiri man, who was injured in a grenade attack at a bus stand, succumbed to injuries Friday, raising the death toll to two. Mohammad Riyaz, a resident of Anantnag district’s Mattan village, died while undergoing treatment at the Government Medical College (GMC) hospital in the early hours.
