A college student, who went missing in Coimbatore was found dead on Saturday. Police said the victim's body was found partially clothed on the Pollachi-Tharapuram road. Police suspect that the student, who was in the second year of college, was sexually assaulted before she was killed.
Police quoting preliminary inquiries said that one Satish has approached her parents with a marriage proposal, but they rejected it and fixed it with other person and the wedding was scheduled in June. Locals of Poosarippatti village discovered the girl's body on a riverbed and informed the police. Her parents had lodged a complaint after she went missing on Friday. Pollachi, where her body was found, is still grappling with the recent allegations of sexual abuse following which eight young men were arrested, four of who are still behind bars.
