CM meets Vijayakanth ahead of annoucement of seats to be contested by AIADMK alliance

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami, who is the joint coordinator of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, today called on his party's alliance leader, DMDK president Vijayakanth, in Chennai. During the meeting that took place at the actor-politician's residence at Saligramam, Palaniswami was accompanied by senior minister Dindigul Srinivasan and other leaders. Besides enquiring the health condition of Vijayakanth, Palaniswami also discussed about the identification of seats to the Desiya Murpokku Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, sources said."An announcement on seats to be contested by the AIADMK alliance will be made soon," sources added.

A few days ago, Pattali Makkal Katchi founder S Ramadoss, his son, former Union Health Minister and the party's youth wing leader Anbumani Ramadoss called on Vijayakanth at his residence at Saligramam in Chennai. Senior State Ministers and AIADMK leaders Velumani and Thangamani accompanied Ramadoss and his son. It is to be noted that both PMK and DMDK are part of the AIADMK led alliance for the Lok Sabha elections, in which BJP, TMC and Puthiya Tamizhagam among others are also constituents. Speaking to reporters after meeting Vijayakanth, Ramadoss said, "I came here to meet Vijayakanth and to enquire about his health."

The AIADMK on Wednesday clinched an alliance with Tamil Maanila Congress (TMC) led by former Union Minister GK Vasan for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. According to the seat sharing agreement, one seat has been allotted to TMC.
