CM dedicates Jayalalithaa’s birthday to girls’ safety

Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami today announced that former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa’s birthday on 24 February will be celebrated as State Girl Children Protection Day. He also made announcements for the benefit of the minorities in the State. The announcements were made in the Assembly today under the Rule 110. Palaniswami announced five schemes for the betterment of the life of destitute girls.

”Girls who are growing in government run homes, those without parents and guardians will be given Rs two lakh after they complete 21 years. This amount will be deposited in their bank account. This will ensure that they are able to lead a good life in the society,” he said.
