PVR is one of the leading company in the movie theater industry. PVR has 584 screens across 50 cities. The company is aiming to put more 2,000 screens nationwide this year.
It is now trying to set up a 5-screen theater inside the Chennai airport. This multiplex theater is of international standard with multi-story car parking facilities.
PVR Ltd's group president, Pramod Arora said, "We have set up a theater with 5 screens with over a thousand seats. It will come into operation in the second half of next year. It is meant to be a hobby for travelers waiting at the airport. But we expect that the theater will have 20 percent passengers and 80 percent outside visitors. It is set to cost around Rs 15 crore. Not only theaters, but also food and beverages."
