While many of the city churches chose to skip carol singing rounds this year for Christmas due to the pandemic, some have decided to limit the celebrations as it would be difficult to maintain social distancing.
Carol being an integral part of Christmas celebrations sees groups of people from the church visiting Christian families singing about the birth of Jesus, mostly in the evening. The practice begins a few weeks before Christmas so that all member families of the church could be visited. It has been a ritual to visit all these families on four Sundays before Christmas every year as part of carol rounds by singing and blessing the families.
