The body of Cafe Coffee Day founder V G Siddhartha, who had gone missing from Mangaluru on Monday night, was found dead by the fisherman in Hoige Bazaar, by the sea shore, at around 6 am Wednesday. The Hoige Bazaar beach is less than a kilometre from the bridge where Siddhartha was last seen. Commissioner of Police (Mangaluru) Sandeep Patil, who rushed to the spot, directed the police personnel to send the body to government-run Wenlock Hospital to conduct post-mortem.
Siddhartha, a renowned businessman and son-in-law of former Chief Minister of Karnataka SM Krishna was last seen walking on the bridge by his driver Basavaraj Patil. Extensive search operation was conducted since Tuesday morning, using the best of swimmers and latest equipment, to trace the 58-year-Old businessman.
