DGP J K Tripathy met Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami in his house at Chennai Greenways road today. DGP Tripathy met Edappadi along with few important Police officials including Chennai Police Commissioner A K Viswanathan. It is reported that they discussed about protests against CAA and NRC in the state.
Meanwhile Viswanathan visited Government Stanley Hospital to enquire the health condition of the police personnel who were injured in the violence. Protesters allege that the situation escalated after some of them were forcibly removed from the protest site, leading to a commotion between them and the police. The protesters blocked interior streets and entrance to the Mint Bridge leading to a traffic snarls.
