CAA is to provide citizenship, not to snatch it, Govt ready for talks : Nirmala
Asserting that the Citizenship AmendmentAct (CAA) was to provide citizenship and not to snatch one, senior BJP leader and Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Sunday said the government was ready to talk with those whohave apprehensions that they would be deprived of citizenship.
Speaking on CAA at an event organised by the Chennai Citizen's Forum here, she said those opposing the CAA should not create anxiety among the people by spreading falsehood.
She said that none of the muslims in the country would be affected by the CAA.
''The CAA is not against the Muslims'', she added.
