Currency notes in huge quantity were today seized in bundles at a place linked to former Minister and DMK leader Durai Murugan in Vellore. According to reports, the money was seized from Durai Murugan's assistant Askar Ali's house. Money was also seized from Durai Murugan's house and a college run by his son and Vellore DMK candidate Kathir Anand, it is said.
During the early hours of Saturday, a surveillance team of the Income Tax department entered the residence of the DMK treasurer and former Minister. The search operations at Durai Murugan’s places continued today too. Police have cordoned off the area for the officials to carry out search operations.
