BJP files case against Esra Sargunam for anti Modi remarks

Bishop Ezra Sargunam found himself in trouble after he allegedly used provocative and abusive remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Cauvery News, a Tamil news channel.
BJP spokesperson in the State Narayanan Tirupathi filed a police complaint against the Bishop yesterday. In his complaint to Abiramapuram Police Station, Narayanan detailed the allegations and said that Sargunam’s comments were being circulated in the social media and sought the Bishop’s arrest and prosecution under IPC 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace).

Sargunam’s allegation in the TV programme reflected accusations that Prime Minister Modi faced when he was the Gujarat Chief Minister a decade ago.
