Bid to hijack flight in Bangladesh foiled

Call it a gritty show by commandos in Bangladesh. They foiled a bid to hijack a Dubai-bound flight of the Biman Airlines carrying 148 passengers.

The flight was going to Dubai from Dhaka via Chattogram. It was eventually made to do an emergency landing at the Shah Amanat International AirportThe place was cordoned off. All those inside the flight were evacuated safely. The enire act lasted for just eight minutes.

Air force's Chattgram base commander Air Vice Marshal Mufidur Rahman said, the hijacker repeatedly wanted to talk to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. He was equipped with a hand gun and explosives. An investigation would be carried out to determine how the man boarded the aircraft with arms and explosives.
