Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has announced that Anjanadri Hillock is Sri Anjaneya Swamy or Lord Hanuman’s birthplace. TTD said it researched with experts before announcing it on Rama Navami on Wednesday.
"As a Chancellor of 20 Universities in Tamil Nadu, I know how difficult and tedious it is to do research and present evidence. I congratulate the entire Pandit team, which worked day and night for four months on Hanuman's birthplace. Ayodhya is Sri Rama's birthplace while Anjanadri is Anjaneya's,’’ said Tamil Nadu Governor Banwarilal Purohit during the event in Tirumala.
Earlier, Prof Muralidhara Sharma, the Vice-Chancellor of National Sanskrit University and one of the expert committee members, presented mythological, epigraphical, scientific, literary and geological evidence before the media and said Anjanadri is Anjaneya Swamy’s birthplace as it is mentioned in 12 Puranas.
