Amit Shah targets Kanimozhi, Karti Chidambaram & Congress manifesto in TN

BJP president Amit Shah on Tuesday charged Congress nominee Karti Chidambaram contesting from Sivaganga Lok Sabha seat and DMK's Kanimozhi seeking election from Thoothukudi with being tainted by corruption. Speaking at poll rallies at Thoothukudi, Sivaganga and Coimbatore, he focused on "corrupt" leaders fielded by the DMK and Congress, his party led government ensuring the security of the nation and avenging the Pulwama attack and the Centre's support to Tamil Nadu on the growth front.

He slammed National Conference leader Omar Abdullah for his "Prime Minister for Jammu and Kashmir" line and asked the people whether they supported the Kashmir leader's remarks. He lashed out at the Congress manifesto that had envisioned plans to downsize the presence of the Army and CAPFs in the Kashmir Valley.

"By downsizing the Army from the Valley, what message is the Congress trying to give to this country? Is Kashmir not part of India? Instead of boosting our soldiers, who are protecting the the Valley and our borders, the Congress is trying to demoralise them," he said.
