If we are looking deep into the late 80s and early 90s of Tamil cinema, it was predominantly spangled with lots of beautiful family entertainers and decent love stories. The creator behind the masterpieces like ‘Vaanathai Pola’, ‘Soorya Vamsam’ and many more blockbuster hits with Vijay and Ajith Kumar is none other than director Vikraman. In his recent interview, he was asked about the reason on staying away from his directorial journey. He replied saying, “I have been involved in the director’s union for 5 years and my wife had some health issues, where I had to be around her. As soon as she is back to normalcy, I will start directing movies.”
When asked if he will direct a movie for Vijay, Vikram replies, “He would definitely agree to do a film with me. Not just Vijay, but Ajith Kumar as well. Ajith Kumar told me that I am the only director, who hasn’t scolded any of his artistes and technicians on the sets till the date. Even Vijay Sethupathi told me once that I had treated him nicely on his visit to my office for seeking chance. He has promised me that he would be anytime available if I am offering him a role.”
