AIADMK,BJP react to Rajini's decision

The All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam and the Bharatiya Janata Party, the ruling parties in Tamil Nadu and the Centre, have reacted to superstar Rajinikanth's decision not to contest in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

While senior Minister D Jayakumar welcomed the decision and conveyed his greetings to Rajinikanth. Bharatiya Janata Party Tamil Nadu unit president Tamilisai Soundararajan said Rajini's statement should not be seen something against her party.

In a statement on Sunday after he chaired a meeting of district satraps of Rajini Makkal Mandram, Rajinikanth said, "I am not supporting anyone. No party should use my picture or outfit's logo for any propaganda." Rajini, who said that his focus is only on Assembly elections, wanted people to support a party in the Centre that would solve Tamil Nadu's water crisis.

It may be recalled that Rajinikanth announced his decision to enter politics in December 2017.
