Days after the ruling AIADMK in Tamil Naduesupported the Citizenship Amendments ACt (CAA) in Rajya Sabha, a party's MP Mohammed John was sacked from the post of patron of the All Jamaat Council of Ranipet, in the the newly carveddistrict.
The sacking was seen as a growing resentment among the minority community against the AIADMK for supporting the CAA, sources said.
The Council, at a meeting held here today, adopted a resolution to remove John from the post of patron, alleging that the AIADMK has betrayed the community by supporting, what it called as"Unconstitutional and communally polarising CAA''.
