AIADMK inks deal with PT, gives one seat

The AIADMK today alloted one seat to Puthiya Tamizhagam (PT) as part of the seat sharing agreement for the Lok Sabha polls and asserted that alliance talks with Vijayakanth led DMDK were on and a good announcement would be made in a day or two. After dilly-dallying on the issue over the numbers, Puthiya Tamizhagam Founder Dr K Krishnasamy finally signed the seat sharing pact with AIADMK lead by Coordinator and Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam and Co-coordinator and Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami at the AIADMK headquarters here.

The seat to be contested by PT would be identified, though reports said that it might contest from Tenkasi in southern Tamilnadu. Talking to reporters, Panneerselvam and Krishnasamy said both the parties have agreed to face the Lok Sabha polls in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry together. As part of the agreement, the PT would also support AIADMK in all the 21 Assembly seats, for which bypolls were due.
