AIADMK finalises alliance with BJP too, DMDK yet to come to fold

Tuesday was an event-filled day in Tamil Nadu political arena. Hours after a deal for alliance was signed between the AIADMK and the PMK, the Tamil Nadu ruling party finalised its partnership with the Bharatiya Janata Party too.

A decision in this regard was taken  AIADMK co-ordinator and Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam and joint co-ordinator and Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami from the AIADMK side and senior BJP leader and Union Minister Piyush Goyal, who is the election in-charge of the party in Tamil Nadu from the BJP side.

Talking to the media, Panneerselvam said, "AIADMK and BJP will have an alliance for Lok Sabha elections which will be a mega winning alliance. BJP will contest on five seats in Lok Sabha elections and we will contest together in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry."

Piyush Goyal said, "We will support AIADMK in the by-elections on 21 assembly seats in Tamil Nadu. We have agreed to contest elections in the leadership of OPS and EPS in state and in leadership of Modi Ji in centre."

Later, Goyal went to DMDK president Vijayakanth's residence and held talks with him. Alliance with the Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam is expected to be finalised today or tomorrow.
