AIADMK-DMDK deal done after OPS met Vijayakanth

The alliance deal between the ruling AIADMK and the DMDK is done, after AIADMK coordinator and Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam called on Vijayakanth in Chennai Monday evening.
A formal announcement is expected to be made today or tomorrow. After meeting Vijayakanth along with Minister D Jayakumar, OPS told reporters that the talks "continue to be on" and a “good decision will be taken and announced today or tomorrow".

Panneerselvam said the decision on alliance will be finalised before the March 6 public rally in Chennai, to be addressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other alliance party leaders. Panneerselvam said the AIADMK leaders had called on Vijayakanth to enquire about his health. "We wished him good health. He is good. He spoke to us happily," he added. Asked about the number of constituencies and the seats to be contested by the DMDK, he said "wait and see," adding it will be made known in a day or two.

"Before 6th the outcome in respect of inking poll pacts with all parties (potential allies) will be announced," Panneerselvam said. All party leaders in the AIADMK-led front would address the rally, to be presided by Prime Minsiter Modi near here, he said.
