AI operates trial flight to Jaffna after 36 years

Setting the stage for restoring directpassenger flight services between Chennai and Jaffna after along gap of 36 years, National carrier Air India operated an Alliance Air flight to the Northern Province of Sri Lanka, on a trial basis, today.

The 75-seater aircraft, with a compliment of 27 people, tookoff from the Anna International airport at 0855 hrs to thePalaly airport in Jaffna as a prelude to restoring the regularair services between the two destinations.
