Action-filled press meet of Anbumani, PMK MP justifies alliance with AIADMK-PMK

Days after forging alliance with the AIADMK-BIP, Pattali Makkal Katchi youth wing leader and Dharmapuri MP Anbumani Ramadoss today hosted a press meet to answer to criticisms being made against his party. During the media interaction at a convention centre at T Nagar in Chennai, Anbumani was seen in multiple moods- jovial, emotional, satirical and angry- as journalists posed multiple questions (some of them are unconformatable) to him.

He said: "We have changed our alliance strategy and tied with the AIADMK in the State and NDA in the Centre because the PMK has not been able to win for the past four elections in Tamil Nadu." Anbumani further said that the DMK is criticising the PMK joining AIADMK because of the party not aligning with Opposition party. But the PMK will not criticise Stalin, he added.

DMK also approached the PMK for an alliance to contest the  2019 Lok Sabha polls, he said. When asked about corruption charges against Ministers, he said that let the CBI complete its investigations into gutkha scam and I will be the first one to demand his (Vijayabhaskar) resignation.

"This alliance in Tamil Nadu is headed by AIADMK. We had not had an opportunity to speak with the BJP yet. We will push for the release of seven convicts in the Rajiv assassins case and NEET issue when we meet the BJP soon," he said.
