A C Shanmugam is AIADMK alliance candidate for Vellore by-poll.The party has also announced Puthiya Needhi Katchi founder-president A C Shanmugam as the candidate for the Vellore Lok Sabha election which will be held 5 August. He will contest in the Two Leaves symbol. The announcement was made by Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam and Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami, the coordinator and joint coordinator of the AIADMK, respectively, after a consultation meeting held today.
The filing of Nominations would begin on July 11 and the last date forfiling of nomination papers was July 18. The scrutiny would take place the next day and July 22 is the last date for withdrawals. Polling would take place on August five and the counting of votes would be taken up on August nine. The EC, in a release said, it has decided to use EVMs and VVPATs in the election in all the polling stations.
