Good news for Indians. IAF pilot Abhinandan Varthaman, captured by Pakistan on Wednesday, reached India and was handed over to Indian authorities at Wagah Border. IAF officials received Abhinandhan from the border. Remember Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan ordered his release as a "gesture of peace". It is a big win for India's diplomatic efforts.
It must be noted that India had rejected Imran Khan's call for a dialogue, saying there would be no deal on Abhinandan Varthaman's release. Many say unless Pakistan commits itself on destroying the terror camps of Jaish-e-Mohammad, there is no point in extending an olive branch to the neighbouring nation.
Beating Retreat in Wagah Border was cancelled today but yet people thronged in large numbers. They all gathered to get a glimpse of Abhinandhan. People waited even for over three to four hours to catch the glimpse of him. Media personnel too thronged there in large numbers. He has emerged the calling cards to get greater talents for IAF. A majority say that Modi's diplomatic policy has won at international level.
